girls will be girls

You know a photo shoot is a success when you leave with your car full of cat tail fuzz, girls with wet, muddy feet and the need to change clothes.  My daughter and my niece are "tweenish" and I was delightfully reminded that these girls are still girls.  They played and laughed and I think at times they forgot I was even taking pictures.  If you could see the hundred or so photos I took, you would see what I mean.  I love these girls and this season of life is so precious.  Childhood is quickly fleeting away.  This time with them was truly a blessing.

It's crazy how fast she's growing!  How fast all our children are growing!!  Here's what "eight" looks like for our girl...  yikes.

Every girl needs her girlfriends. I'm so happy I took the time to capture my daughter with one of her "BFF's". These shots and these days will be treasured.

b&w ~ the old days

I'm loving black and white photo's right now. It takes me back to the old days when I would go in the darkroom to develop my photos. The magic of your photo slowly appearing out of thin air. Waiting patiently to see the results of your hard work. Now it's a click of a button, but I still love the results.

the bad

So, back to my story... a photo shoot with my kids (and my mom) was not so easy. There was a lot of goofing off, fake smiles,

dancing/fighting on the tables,

and one little boy that refused to admit that he had to go potty.

Despite that, memories were made and even a few "hallmark" moments ;)

the good

Taking pictures of your own children is a challenge. Here are some of the good... later I will share some of the bad and the ugly (well, so to speak ;)

Grace has seen plenty of leaf photos with the many photo shoots I've been doing lately and she couldn't wait to get in on this action! Little Luke almost blends right in...

Taking a walk with Moo-moo. And if you look really closely you can see Cole running up ahead.

Grace is the easiest to get to cooperate (she should be, at age seven!)

And then there's Luke...

It looks like he's carrying a huge branch when he's really just climbing the tree.
Ahhh.... the good (I know, the list is short.)
